Our Process
As a Washington DC Bankruptcy Lawyer my job is to make the bankrupty process as easy for you as possible. That is why I have developed a 5 point system where I will do almost everything for you in your case without you ever having to even leave your home. I only need you to do the following few things.
1. Call for my Free Over-the-Phone Consultation: The first step to your financial freedom begins when you call my office for my free consultation. This will usually take about 10 mins where I will hear how you are doing and will help you determine right over the phone if you qualify for bankruptcy.
2. If you qualify for bankruptcy, the next thing I need for you to do is to fill out a detailed questionnaire that I will email you that will ask you all the possible questions I will need to prepare your bankruptcy petition. When you complete it, you will send it back with my retainer agreement, a money order for my fee, and copies of a few items I will need to prepare your bankruptcy petition. As soon as I get this, I will file your petition.
3. 1 Hour Credit Counseling Course: The bankruptcy code requires all debtors who file to complete a credit counseling course. It costs about $50 and you can take it over the phone or the Internet.
4. 341 Meeting: After I file your bankrtupcy petition, you will need to attend the 341 meeting. This meeting should only last between 5 and 10 minutes.
5. 1 Hour Financial Management Course: The bankruptcy code also requires this before your case is complete. It costs $50 and you can take it over the Internet or by phone.
Once you’ve completed the above 5 steps, you are done! You will receive a letter in the mail stating your debts listed on your bankruptcy petition have been discharged. Check your credit report a few weeks later to check and see if all of your debts have been erased.
